Generally, video cables have one of four types of jacks: Coaxial RF/F-type, Composite Video/RCA, S-Video or Component Video.
Coaxial RF, otherwise known as F-type, can transmit both video and audio at the same time. Coaxial RF comes in two types: RG-59, which is standard and RG-6, which is of higher quality.
Composite cables, also called RCA, are color coded with yellow, red and white jacks.
S-Video cables are used to visually enhance videos. They transmit color and brightness using circular 4-pin connectors and are of better quality than coaxial RF cables.
Component video connections transmit color accuracy better than any of the aforementioned connectors. Component video cables split the video signal into three separate parts and have a cable allotted for each individual transmission.
