If apple is known for one thing it is simplicity. The iPod is no exception. The iPod was designed with the simplest synchronization of any portable digital audio device. To download tunes from your PC, requires only a simple firewire connection. It is also extremely easy to hook your iPod up to your home audio system, your car, and even an iPod jukebox that resembles a retro Wurlitzer, complete with blinking lights!
The easiest way to connect an iPod to your home stereo system or TV is to use the same jack on the iPod where you plug in your headphones. That is a 3.5mm “mini” jack. All you need is a “mini” to RCA adapter cable, available at any electronics store. Plug the mini end in to the headphone jack on the iPod and the RCA in to any available or “Aux” audio input on your home system and your done.
To connect to your car stereo is equally as easy. If your car stereo has an available input jack, follow the same procedure as above. (Although in this case your cable is more likely mini-to-mini). If your car stereo does not have an input jack, you can use a “cassette adapter”, available at any store that sells car audio accessories.
Many auto manufactures are now selling vehicles that have built in docking ports for iPods.
